Statement from Tuxford Town Council - Social Media Post

Further to comments made on Facebook regarding the Reads Exhibition Foundation the town council would like to confirm that this is not council business and there is no association between Tuxford Town Council and Reads Exhibition Foundation.

The town council have not discussed nor voted on the future of the Old Grammar School in any of our council meetings and the town council have no power to act nor have influence over what action is taken by Reads Exhibition Foundation. More »

In October 2021 Tuxford Town Council applied to Bassetlaw District Council to register The Old Grammar School as an Asset of Community Value. This was granted at the beginning of October 2022, in the hope to guard the community asset and give a community group an opportunity to purchase the building. Some community groups have been aware of the intention to sell the building for over one year. » Less
