Best Kept Village Competition - UPDATE!
TUXFORD TOWN COUNCIL HAVE ENTERED THE BEST KEPT VILLAGE COMPETITION 2024 - UPDATE!
Congratulations to our wonderful staff and community for coming FIRST in section B of the first round of judging of the Best Kept Village Competition. ππ This is a fantastic achievement, and it's all thanks to the hard work and dedication of each one of you.
Final voting will take place between 08 July and 16 August 2024, and we need everyone's help to keep up the momentum. Let's continue to keep our town clean, tidy, and beautiful.
Here are a few ways you can contribute:
- Keep public areas clean: Please dispose of litter properly and help pick up any trash you see.
- Maintain your front gardens: A tidy garden can make a big difference in the overall appearance of our town.
- Report any issues: If you notice any areas that need attention, let us know so we can address them promptly.
Together, we can win the overall competition and show everyone the pride we have in our beautiful town! π·π³πͺ #BestKeptVillage #CommunitySpirit #PrideInOurTown
Thank you for your continued support and efforts!
We hope that the community will rally behind the best kept village competition and create a sense of pride and camaraderie among residents as we work together to showcase the beauty of our town.
Some background...
Entries will be placed into one of four categories determined by population size. The aim will be to put a roughly equal number of villages into each category with Section A including the largest villages, Section B the next largest, Section C the next largest, and Section D the smallest.
The first round is in June and the second round (if we get through) will be in July.
Each village will be allocated marks under the following headings:
- Domestic e.g. houses, gardens, hedges
- Community Facilities e.g. bus shelters, playing fields, playgrounds, village hall, village green, verges and gutters, stream or pond, churchyards, notice boards, footpath map/stiles/signs, street furniture etc
- Commercial Enterprises and Services
- βObvious Community Effort
Here's how you can help:
Keep your front garden neat and weed-free. Trim hedges, mow lawns, and maintain flower beds. Sweep drives and keep them litter-free. Display, or refresh, hanging baskets.
Show the judges why Tuxford deserves to be crowned Nottinghamshire's Best Kept Village!
